This page explains a few common insurance terms and how to check your benefits before ordering.
Key Insurance Terms (Made Simple)
Deductible
Your deductible is the set amount you must pay each year before your insurance starts paying for covered services or medical products.
Example: If your deductible is $1,500, you may need to pay that amount before insurance starts contributing towards a claim.
Coinsurance
After your deductible is met, many plans require coinsurance, meaning you pay a percentage of the cost.
Example:
If your plan covers 80%, you are responsible for the remaining 20%.
